Hello, my name is A V Satish Chandra and I am Professor of Political Science. I am also very, very interested in the world of automobiles be they cars or motorcycles or scooters. However, I tend to lean a little towards the two wheeler world more than the four wheelers because primarily, I only acquired cars a little late but lived around all kinds of two wheelers. I also feel, as Robert Persig says in his celebrated work, "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" you are one with the world; the elements. In a car, Pirsig says watching through the windscreen in like watching television. I have just called this blog avsauto because I will probably be writing all kinds of things from motorsport (MotoGP is my favourite) to products that are launched in the Indian market. I will not be putting up pictures, they are there all over the internet; what I want to really do is generate perspectives. It could be about the industry in India or motorsports, not reporting of race results but analysis of what happened in races, and the prognosis for the sport and manufacturers and all things associated with it. This is just an introduction for now. I want you to know that I am half a century old and learnt to ride my dad's old Vespa all on my own. I was then in my 8th class. I used to go to various places on Sundays where old books and magazines were sold and I would sift through each and everyone of them to find old issues of international magazines such as Motorcyclist, Cycle World, Car&Driver and Autosport among others. I am a bit of an archivist, I like to document various happenings in the world of motorsport, and in the industry itself. It is not going to be anything specific; it will be about everything auto. I hope you will enjoy reading this blog once I start posting proper articles.
